Have you seen the cover for Troika (Adam Pelzman)? It somehow manages subtle and bold at the same time.caitlinsternhttp://caitlinsternwrites.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6116582981822927128.post-85221411716278283942014-06-24T15:47:02.000-04:002014-06-24T15:47:02.000-04:00I hadn't seen it before, but just looked it up...I hadn't seen it before, but just looked it up on Goodreads - I really love that design!Kittens and Bookshttp://kittensandbooks.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6116582981822927128.post-23339301230998421722014-06-24T17:54:49.000-04:002014-06-24T17:54:49.000-04:00What's an example of a book with awkwardly pla...What's an example of a book with awkwardly placed text? I'm just curious if you had a book in mind when writing it. :) Great list this week! I think text/typography seems to be the winning ticket for book covers! For the Love of the Pagehttp://fortheloveofthepage.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6116582981822927128.post-67355964457807035452014-06-24T18:10:29.000-04:002014-06-24T18:10:29.000-04:00I think it happens most often in self-published wo...I think it happens most often in self-published works. I didn't have an example in mind but one I just found on Goodreads is here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/231962.The_Queen_of_Everything

I've seen worse, but didn't want to choose a self-published book - I don't want to create any bad publicity for struggling authors. Basically just titles or even author's names that seem randomly placed . . . It's difficult to explain and to be honest I'm overly picky about it!

Thank you and yes I've seen a lot of it! No surprise to me because the text is usually my favorite part of the cover.Kittens and Bookshttp://kittensandbooks.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6116582981822927128.post-74108975725239687672014-06-24T21:39:36.000-04:002014-06-24T21:39:36.000-04:00Oh yea... I guess I understand the creativity in it but man, so much work for just a title (discounting the fact that the title would be on the spine).

Cheers,
joey via. thoughts and afterthoughtsanotherafterthoughthttp://anotherafterthought.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6116582981822927128.post-69772823476716381692014-06-25T20:37:13.000-04:002014-06-25T20:37:13.000-04:00Definitely true! I don't mind creativity but sometimes, even when you can tell the title, it just looks awkward in a certain spot.Kittens and Bookshttp://kittensandbooks.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6116582981822927128.post-69578339538209327822014-06-25T23:21:32.000-04:002014-06-25T23:21:32.000-04:00For sure!
